Admittedly,
It is hard or even impossible to imagine the future of winter fashion in the
absence of fur-featuring products certainly after the growing debate on the
question of the use of fur in fashion. Once a luxury staple reserved for the
upper class, fur is widely used in every other product to further maximize the
protection of the wearer when the temperature drops down below zero.
Even
though fur-featuring products are considered to be too expensive and out of the
reach of a common man, fashion designers are working to minimize their cost in
a bid to reach out to the wider consumer base. Unknown to us, the date of the
use of fur clothing is subject to debate among the historians who believe the
early humans had learned to make good use of the animal skin to stay warm in
cold months.
It is absolutely wrong to believe the use of fur is limited to outerwear like
leather jackets, long tops, and cropped layers. In the past couple of
centuries, man has included fur in almost every fashion accessory from rounded
hats to the mufflers. However, their use is dominated by the outer layers which
are widely used throughout the winter season.
Even
though many brands have taken a step back to say '' No '' to the use of fur in
the making of the outerwear due to the growing pressure from the animal rights
activists and public, many are still sticking to continue the promotion of
fur-collared layers for God knows what reasons.
As
far as the role of fur products in mainstream fashion is concerned, the industry can't go for an option allowing them to get rid of the real fur which
will instantly minimize the overall profit of these brands relying solely on
the manufacturing of fur-featuring products.
If
you are still unclear about the importance of fur in the mainstream fashion,
keep in the uppermost part of your uninformed mind, the majority of the leather
coats and jackets supplied to the residents living in the moderately and
extremely cold regions are made of fur material.
This
further indicates the fashion industry has been unable to provide the consumers
with a better replacement to get rid of the real fur products inviting more and
more critics to join the growing group of opponents within the world of fashion
who are strictly against killing the animals for commercial purposes.
The
overall sales of fur products may have declined in the past couple of years but
the statistics prove, millions in profit are still being made by Europeans
countries like Italy, Germany and the UK.
Whereas
countries like the U.S and Canada are the relatively smaller contributors to
the global sales of fur products signaling a major decline in the centuries-old tradition of eliminating the animals.
